Gambella, August 16, 2016 (GMN) - The expansion would raise current enrollment 1,300 to 5,600. The University of Gambella said nearly 1.7 billion Birr worth expansion work is underway to launch news fields of studies at masters and first degree level.
University Administration and Development Vice President Berhanu Dejene said that the massive expansion work will facilitate training and research activities carried out by the university.
Preparatory works have been finalized to launch ten new educational programs, raising fields of study to 28, he added.
The project is expected to be completed next academic year raising the current enrollment 1,300 to 5,600, according to the Vice President.
The project includes building of new classrooms, dormitories, offices, laboratories, libraries as well as residence for teachers and other services. The project has created nearly 4,000 jobs.
